WHAT IS BODYWORK?
When many of us think of bodywork, what comes to mind is physical massage (massage therapy), and that is correct. An essential part of the bodyworker’s practice is to tend to the needs of the physical body. In addition, a holistic approach expands that idea, treating the body, mind, and spirit as interrelated. At Pranadudes, we know there is great need to honor all aspects of the self. Coming from this perspective, we can employ a variety of healing modalities in a session custom designed for your needs on that day. The emphasis is placed on the art of touch, with sensitivity to the relationship between mind and body. This is where our Ayurvedic treatments, Polarity Therapy, and other mind-body centered modalities expand the potential for health and well-being.During a session we can introduce you to numerous modalities to promote healing and relaxation. Depending on treatment focus, this can include one or more of the following: Swedish Massage, Ayurvedic Bodywork, Polarity Therapy, Cranio-Sacral Therapies, Reiki, Magnified Healing, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and other mind-body techniques. You and your practitioner will fully discuss all aspects of the session before it begins, and we can answer any questions you have ahead of time. For some sessions (energy balancing, for example) you will remain fully clothed, and for others (such as massage therapy and Ayurvedic treatments) you will undress in private, and be draped for modesty and warmth during the entire session. We strive to create a soothing, safe environment, and we invite you to let go and enjoy this beautiful exchange of energies.
"Whenever you are working with people, remember that each person is unique. You will never find such a person again, it happens only once. Each person is historic because he will not be repeated again. So each moment of contact will also be historical because it is unrepeatable, it is tremendously valuable." OSHO
